Diamond Dogs Climb To No. 18

STARKVILLE, Miss. - A second consecutive weekend series win against a top 10-ranked conference opponent has helped Mississippi State climb in the national rankings for college baseball.
Mississippi State climbed to No. 18 in the latest Collegiate Baseball ranking and No. 19 in the NCBWA college baseball writers poll, and made their season debuts at No. 21 in the USA TODAY/ESPN coaches poll and at No. 22 in the Baseball America. On-line publication Rivals.com also boosted the Bulldogs into their national ranking at No. 20.
The Bulldogs (21-8), who took two of three games from SEC West-leading and third-ranked Arkansas last weekend in Fayetteville, Ark., resume their nine-game, four-state road schedule with midweek contests against the South Alabama Jaguars (17-15). MSU tests USA Tuesday in a 6 p.m.matchup at Stanky Field in Mobile, Ala., and again Wednesday in a 7 p.m.game at Trustmark Park in Pearl, Miss.
