Bulldog Lefty Justin Pigott Named SEC Pitcher Of The Week
The Picayune, Miss., product scattered eight hits - all singles - with two walks and four strikeouts and allowed one unearned over nine innings as Mississippi State notched a series-clinching 2-1 win Saturday against the SEC West-leading Razorbacks at Baum Stadium in Fayetteville, Ark.
Pigott's pitching gem was the first complete-game pitching performance by a Bulldog this season and the fourth in 12 career starts over the past 11 months for Pigott. The MSU southpaw earned SEC Pitcher of the Week honors once as a sophomore last May after tossing a complete-game three hitter against Florida.
The win at Arkansas nailed down State's third conference series win in four weekends of SEC play, the second on the road and the second straight against a ranked league opponent.
