MSU Lady Netters Open Conference Home Slate On Friday
The Lady Bulldogs (4-5) opened SEC play at South Carolina on Friday, March 2. Against the Gamecocks, State dropped a 7-0 decision after several players were plagued by illness. In Sunday's match against Florida, State forfeited due to not having enough healthy players to compete.
Auburn enters the weekend with a 5-4 record including two SEC losses last weekend to No. 31 Kentucky and No. 17 Vanderbilt.
"This is a big weekend for us as we always have really close matches with both Auburn and Alabama ," said MSU Head Coach Tracy Lane . "They both have really solid players throughout the line-up, so I look for it being an extremely competitive weekend."
State will close out the weekend hosting No. 57 Alabama on Sunday at 1 p.m. CT at the A.J. Pitts Tennis Centre. Following this weekend's action, the Lady Bulldogs travel to Kentucky on Friday, March 23 for a 2 p.m. CT match and at Vanderbilt Sunday, March 25 for a match at noon.
