Weather Chases Bulldogs Indoors For Thursday Work

Afternoon rain showers, some heavy in the Golden Triangle area, sufficiently dampened the Shira Athletic Complex practice fields and with tornado watches swirling around Starkville, MSU head coach Sylvester Croom made the early call to move State's final day without any padding inside the Palmeiro Center.
The early portion of the workout was conducted with the football Bulldogs at one end of the indoor facility and the Diamond Dawg baseball team, prepping for this weekend's Cadence Classic, at the other. The new location may have had an adverse affect on Croom's troops which labored through a three-hour practice.
It wasn't a very good day for us, Croom said. It was too long because we had to re-run too many plays. We weren't doing them right, and we're not going to leave the field until we get them right. We worked pretty well the first two days, but we took a step backward today.
The Bulldogs will work in shoulder pads for the first time Friday, before donning full gear next Monday.
