MSU Track & Field Lands 24 Student-Athletes On The 2006 SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll
Thirteen Lady Bulldogs made the academic ledger, while 11 Bulldogs posted 3.0 or better grad point averages to make the list. MState had seven on the women's side make the honor roll for the third consecutive season, while distance runner Meggan Hodge is a four-time recipient of the SEC Academic Honor Roll. On the Bulldog squad, four athletes were named to the academic list in back-to-back years.
As an institution, MSU placed 75 student-athletes on the conference-wide honor roll. The 2006 listing is based on grades from the 2005 Summer, 2005 Fall and 2006 Spring terms.
To be eligible for the honor roll, each student-athlete must 1) have a GPA of 3.00 for either the preceding academic year or have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or above at the nominating institution; 2) be on scholarship, a letter-winner or have participated on a varsity team for two years if non-scholarship; 3) have completed 24 segment hours of non-remedial credit at the nominating institution; and 4) have been a member of the varsity team for the sport's entire NCAA Championship segment.
