MSU Golfer Greg Huxman Tied For Second After One Round Of The Florida State Amateur Championship
BOYNTON BEACH , Fla. - Mississippi State men's golfer Greg Huxman opened the 89th Florida State Amateur Championship with a 2-under par 70 at Hunter's Run Golf and Racquet Club's South Course. Huxman, a Miami , Fla. native is among a pack of five competitors tied for second place and one stroke back of the clubhouse leader.
The top 168 amateur golfers in the state will play 18 holes each at Pine Tree Golf Club and Hunter's Run Golf and Racquet Club on Thursday and Friday with the final 36 holes of the Championship played at Pine Tree Golf Club this weekend, June 24-25.
MState has another connection with in the field. Sophomore Noah Goldman is competing in the 72-hole event this week. Goldman, a Longwood, Fla. product registered an opening round score of 4-over par 76 on the South Course.Huxman and Goldman will play the Pine Tree GC course on Friday.
