MSU's Clay Homan Finishes Third At 2006 Mississippi Amateur
CHOCTAW, Miss. - Mississippi State head golf coach Clay Homan fired an even-par round of 72 on Sunday at the Mississippi Amateur at Dancing Rabbit Golf Club, but the 2005 champion fell three strokes short of retaining his title at 11-under par. Kyle Ellis posted a 3-under par round of 69 to claim top honors, while Trey Denton finished second at 12-under par.
MSU golfers Matt Fast and Josh Oller finished in the top-20 in the 72-hole event. Fast posted a 3-over par tournament total to place ninth. Oller had his best round of the weekend with a 2-under par 70.
