MSU Senior Golfer Jared Jimenez Named To SEC Men's Golf Good Works Team
Jimenez is making his second appearance on the 10-member team. The Richmond, Va. product was a 2005 SEC Good Works Team honoree. The Bulldog linkster is the president of MSU's student-athlete M-Club. He helped deliver coats to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in January in response to Hurricane Katrina, along with being an integral part in coordinating the coat drive. He has participated in Kids Fairs at local schools, while reading to kids to emphasize education. Jimenez is the representative for men's golf on MState's Student Athlete Advisory Committee and was chosen as AllState's MSU Student Athlete of the Week in September of 2005. The senior is also a two-time SEC Academic Honor Roll selection for 2004 and 2005.
On pace to receive his degree in biological sciences, Jimenez has been in the line up for two tournaments this season, participating in the Tennessee Tournament of Champions and the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate.
