ST. SIMONS ISLAND, Ga. ?€“ Mississippi State fired 281 on the final day of the 2006 Southeastern Conference Men's Golf Championship to move up a notch to finish 11th in the field. The 1-over par round for MSU was the third-best on Sunday following Georgia and Florida's 11-under par rounds.

Young also registered an eagle on the par-5 15th and followed it up with a birdie on No. 16. As a team, the Maroon and White posted 13 birdies on the final day of competition.
UGA and UF battled it out for the title with the Red and Black claiming the league championship by one stroke over the Gators. UF's Brett Stegmaier took home medalist honors by a stroke over Brian Harman of UGA.
MSU will await word from the NCAA Men's Golf Championship Committee if they will be selected to play in the NCAA East Regional on May 18-20 in Orlando, Fla.
