MSU Golfers Off To Rough Start At SEC Men's Golf Championship
Hattiesburg, Miss. native Matt Fast turned in State's low-round of the day, posting a 5-over par 75. His scorecard included 12 pars and one birdie on the par-3 17th. Fast is tied 43rd after one round of competition. Freshman Noah Goldman posted a round of 76, tied for 48th. Carlos Sainz, Jr. and Josh Oller both reported rounds of 77. The MState tandem stands 51st in the individual standings.
Top-ranked Georgia leads the overall team standings thru 18 holes with a 4-under par round of 276. UGA freshman Brian Harman has the clubhouse lead on the individual side at 3-under par. Alabama, Florida Tennessee and LSU round out the top-5 teams on the leaderboard.
Saturday's second round will begin at 8 a.m. ET at the par-70 course. MSU will be paired with Kentucky and Arkansas and will tee off from the 10th hole.
