MSU Women's Tennis Host Mississippi In Regular Season Finale
This weekend's match up features the Southeastern Conference Western Division Co-Champions from a year ago. This year marks the 48th meeting on the tennis courts between the rival schools. UM has won the previous 16 matches against the Lady Bulldogs. The last MState victory in the series came during the 1989 campaign. Last season in Oxford, the Red and Blue claimed a 6-1 win over the MSU.
The Lady Rebels bring an overall record of 10-8, along with a 3-7 mark within Southeastern Conference play. UM split their matches last weekend, downing Tennessee 4-3 and falling to Georgia 5-2. Freshman Kseniia Tokarieva leads the team with a 29-7 combined doubles and singles record (15-3 in singles -- 14-4 in doubles).
After Saturday's match, State will trek to Gainesville, Fla. on Thursday, April 20, to compete in the SEC Women's Tennis Championships at University of Florida's Ring Tennis Complex.
