Bulldogs Move Into Eighth After 36 Holes Of The Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

AUBURN, Ala. - Mississippi State moved into a tie for eighth with UAB on the second day of the 19th Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate after posting a 6-over par 294 on Saturday at the Auburn University Club. MSU heads to Sunday's finale just eight stokes out of the top-5 on the team leaderboard.
Second round activity did not get underway until Noon due to inclement weather in the Auburn, Ala. area.
Bulldog freshman Noah Goldman moved from tied for seventh to fourth with his 1-under par 71 score in the second round. The Longwood, Fla. product is at even-par for the 54-hole event. He stands eight shots off the pace set by Auburn's Stuart Moore, who scorched the course with a second round 8-under par 64.
Junior Josh Oller posted a round of 73 to move from 48th to 35th after 36 holes of competition. Carlos Sainz, Jr. carded a 2-over par 74 after recording an 81 on Friday. Logan Young closed out the State scorecard with a 76.
MSU Brian Mason, playing as an individual turned in a 3-over par 75 and currently tied 19th after firing an opening-round 73.
Auburn holds a commanding 14 shot lead with one round to play. The Tigers fired an impressive 11-under par 277. Charlotte stands in second at 5-over, while Ole Miss is third with a two-round total of 16-over par.
Sunday will conclude the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate with tee times beginning at 8 a.m. CT.
