McKay Sets Second Regional Mark In Steeplechase, Takes Fourth At Texas

Freshman Marrissa Harris (Memphis, Tenn.) recorded her second regionalqualifying mark in the 100-meter hurdles this season. Running apersonal best 13.90 seconds, Harris finished 24th in the eventpreliminaries. Freshman Gabrielle Dillon (Liberty, Miss.) lowered herpersonal best in the 100-meter dash to 12.03 seconds. Attempting tocomeback from illnesses, senior Meggan Hodge (Beaumont, Alberta)finished seventh, running 11:13.66 in the 3000-meter steeplechase,while teammate Joy Griffith (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) was 10th (11:49.03).
State's 4x100-meter relay squad of Harris, freshman Antrese Banks(Gloster, Miss.), Dillon and freshman Janelle Finley (Mobile, Ala.) ranthe team's second-best time this season, clocking in at 47.04 seconds.In the high jump, senior Jasmine Walls (Picayune, Miss.) matched herpersonal best clearance in the event, finishing in a tie for 16th witha leap of 5-07.
Junior Eliott Morant (Kansas City, Mo.) competed in two events on thethird day. Morant ran 11.33 seconds in the men's 100-meter dash andfollowed with a personal best time of 14.96 in the 110-meter hurdles.
