State Golfers 11th After Day One Of The Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

Freshman Noah Goldman turned in MSU's low-round of the day with a 2-over par 74 and stands tied for seventh after 18 holes of competition. Redshirt freshman Logan Young carded a 6-over par 78, currently 43rd on the individual board. Junior Josh Oller finished Friday with a round of 79 (49th).
State's Brian Mason, playing as an individual this week, posted a 1-over par round of 73 and is tied alongside Goldman for seventh. Mason was atop the leaderboard early in the first round, playing the front nine at 2-under par.
Auburn leads the 54-hole event after day one with a 2-over par 290. The Tigers have a two-shot advantage over Charlotte heading in to Saturday.
AU's Andrew Medley and Memphis's Ian Rochester are the individual clubhouse leaders at 2-under par. Only three players in the field turned in rounds under par.
Tee times for Saturday's round will begin at 8 a.m. CT.
