Bulldogs Prep For 19th-Annual Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate

STARKVILLE, Miss. ?€“ Mississippi State's men's golf team will have a final tune up for the upcoming Southeastern Conference Golf Championships coming up in two weeks taking part in the 19th-Annual Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate this weekend, April 7-9, in Auburn, Ala.
The Bulldogs will be gunning for their ninth consecutive top-10 finish of 2005-06 at the par-72, 7,275-yard Auburn University Club. In their previous outing, the linksters claimed second place at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate on March 28, marking the season-best finish for the squad.
The 54-hole, three-day event on the Plains of Auburn has been a mainstay on MSU's golf slate. The Maroon and White have participated in the AU-hosted event 13 times during its 19-year existence.
MState's probable five-man line up will be freshmen Matt Fast, Noah Goldman and Carlos Sainz, Jr. Junior Josh Oller, who led State at the Carter Plantation Intercollegiate with a fourth-place finish, will make his ninth start of the season. Logan Young rounds out the line up for the weekend.
Joining the Bulldogs in the tournament field will be Auburn, College of Charleston, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Mercer, North Florida, Ole Miss, South Alabama, Southeastern Louisiana and UAB.
State will be paired with Memphis and South Alabama during the opening round on Friday with tee time at 9:38 a.m. off No. 1.
