Offense Shows Improvement, Defense Remains Opportunistic Despite Sluggish Start
STARKVILLE, Miss. ?€“ Mississippi State's offense continued to earn the praise of head football coach Sylvester Croom on Tuesday, as the Bulldogs returned to full pads for a two-and-one-half hour practice.
We started off slow, even had to start one period over, Croom said following practice. But we keep working to get better. (Quarterback) Mike (Henig) continues to throw the ball well.
Croom continued to recognize the work of the front seven of his defensive unit, singling out defensive end Michael Heard and linebackers Gabe O'Neal and Jamar Chaney.
The defense continues to cause turnovers and get turnovers, the head coach said.
MState will take Wednesday off before returning to the practice fields on Thursday to continue preparations for the team's second scrimmage on Saturday.
