Bulldogs In Second After Two Rounds Of The Carter Plantation Intercollegiate

Bulldog freshman Matt Fast posted MSU low-round of the day in the morning round with a 1-over par 73, while following it up with a second-round 77. The Hattiesburg, Miss. native is currently tied for sixth and just five shots off the individual leader, Julian Colmenares of Jacksonville State at 1-over par thru 36 holes. Three MSU individuals finished the first two rounds in the top-20 of the 58-man field. Junior Josh Oller recorded rounds of 75 and 76 and stands in 12th-place. Freshmen Carlos Sainz, Jr. and Noah Goldman stand tied for 14th and 20th respectively. Sainz, Jr. fired an opening round 77 and a second-round 75. Goldman opened with a 75 and carded an afternoon score of 78.
Only seven rounds of par or better were turned in at the par-72, 6,725-yard Oak Course of Carter Plantation on Monday.
Jacksonville State is two shots back of MState in third place, while South Alabama and Southern Mississippi round out the top-five team positions on the leaderboard.
Tuesday's final round will get underway at 7:30 a.m.
