Bulldogs Netmen Fall 4-2 To Colorado At Blue-Gray Classic
State gained the opening point of the match with two victories in doubles play.At the #2 position, MSU's duo of Pierre Mouillon and Florent Girod knocked offColorado's Jan Zelezny and Marek Dvorak 8-2. The Bulldogs clinched the pointwhen the MSU tandem of Philippe Frayssinoux and Ryan Farlow defeated CU's ChadTsuda and Peter Bjork 8-4. The match on the #1 court was suspended with EricMolnar and Marko Bunalo of CU leading State's Ivan Bjelica and Jose-CarlosPinto 6-5.
The momentum quickly turned when singles play began. Colorado won the first setin five of the six singles matches. The Buffalo's tied the match at 1-1 whenCU's Molnar upended State's Bjelica at the #1 position 6-0, 6-4. State went up2-1 when MSU's Mouillon closed out CU's Bundalo 6-3, 6-3 on court #2. On the #5court, Colorado's Chad Tsuda won in straight sets over Bulldog Girod by a scoreof 6-2, 7-5, evening the match at two points a piece. Colorado inched closer tothe victory when 111th-ranked Buffalo Zelezny beat Pinto 6-2, 6-0 on court #4to take a 3-2 lead. Colorado closed out the match on court #6 where CU's Dvorakbeat State's Farlow 6-3, 6-4. The last match on court #3 between MSU'sFrayssinoux and CU's 96th-ranked Bjork was suspended with Bjork leading 7-5,3-2.
Mississippi State will close out competition in the Blue-Gray Classic Saturday,taking on Oregon at 4:30 p.m. in the second round consolation braket.
