Queen Takes Third, Brady Fifth In Alabama Relays Decathlon
Freshman Darryl Brady (Vancleave, Miss.) capped off his firstcollegiate decathlon scoring 5,747 points en route to a fifth-placefinish.
Queen opened the day running 17.73 seconds in the 110-meter hurdles,then took fourth in the discus, throwing 109 feet and three inches. Hethen cleared 14 feet, three-and-one-quarter inches to finish in a tiefor first in the pole vault. He followed with a third-place finish inthe javelin (158 feet, 11 inches) and closed out the day with a win inthe 1500-meter run (4:41.99).
Brady finished second in the 1500, running 4:59.35. He also threw 154feet, nine inches in the javelin and clocked 20.01 in the 110-meterhurdles.
Events begin tomorrow morning at 8 a.m. CT at the Sam Bailey TrackComplex on the University of Alabama campus.
