Noah Goldman Earns SEC Golfer of the Week Honors

STARKVILLE , Miss. - Mississippi State golfer Noah Goldman has been named the Southeastern Conference's Golfer of the Week by the league office on Friday.
Goldman earned the award after his performance this past week in the Seminole Intercollegiate in Tallahassee, Fla. on March 5-7. The Longwood, Fla. native finished a season-best fourth to pace State to its sixth consecutive top-10 finish and second top-5 finish of the season. The MSU rookie carded rounds of 71-72-68 to post a 4-under par total. For the second time this season, Goldman has carded three rounds of par or better in an event. He scored rounds of 70-71-72 and a fifth-place finish this past fall in the Squire Creek Intercollegiate (Oct. 17-18). He ranks second on the team in scoring average with a 73.88 and nine of his 16 rounds this season have been at par or better.
Goldman becomes the first MState golfer to receive the weekly honor since Joe Deraney was tabbed Co-SEC Golfer of the Week after capturing the Homewood Suites Intercollegiate last season. It marks the second player under head coach Clay Homan to receive the honor.
The Maroon and White return to action on Monday, March 13, competing in the University of South Alabama Spring Classic in Mobile, Ala. The Bulldogs are the defending team champion in the event.
