No. 4 Florida Blanks MSU Lady Netters 7-0 On Sunday
State managed to win the match at the No.1 doubles position against the Blue and Orange. MSU's tandem of Anastasia Kugakolova and Polina Kokoulina knocked off UF's 60th-ranked pairing of Whitney Benik and Alexis Gordon 8-7(5). The win marked their first win this season over a ranked opponent.
Kugakolova fell 6-1, 6-2 to fifth-ranked Diana Srebrovic of UF on court one, while 99th-ranked Whitney Benik dropped MState's Renee Joseph 6-2, 6-2. Sophomore Polina Kokoulina lost a 6-1, 6-0 decision to UF's Berecz Boglarka, ranked 41st in the nation.
MSU hits the road next weekend touring the state of Alabama, facing Auburn on Friday, March 10 and Alabama on Sunday, March 12. Both matches are scheduled to begin at 1 p.m.
