Bulldogs Post Two Regional Qualifying Marks, Three Wins To Close Out Snowbird

TALLAHASSEE ?€“ The Mississippi State University men's outdoor track andfield squad closed out competition at the FSU Snowbird on Saturday withone individual and one relay team meeting NCAA regional qualifyingmarks and three wins.
Those two regional marks were worth the trip here, said MSU headcoach Al Schmidt. It was a good day for us. Allen (Cassell) and Darryl(Brady) did well. We're happy with the performances.
Sophomore Tim Williams (Pensacola, Fla.) cleared 6 feet,10-and-three-fourths inches to win the high jump title. MSU's4x400-meter relay squad of junior transfer Ezra Jones (Wildwood, Fla.)junior all-American Arthur Davis (Mobile, Ala.), sophomore all-AmericanElzie Coleman (Newburgh, N.Y.) and junior transfer Bruce Davis (PhenixCity, Ala.) ran 3 minutes, 9.37 seconds to win the event.
In his first collegiate race, freshman Ty Williams (Panama City, Fla.)won the meet's 800-meter run title, running 1:54.89. Sophomoreall-American Chris Woods (Atlanta, Ga.) placed third in the 400-meterdash, running 48.18. Fellow sophomore Isaiah Marshall (Detroit, Mich.)ran 49.85.
In addition to Williams' win the high jump, freshman Allen Cassell(Port Gibson, Miss.) cleared 6-06 to finish in a tie for second.Freshman Darryl Brady (Vancleave, Miss.) finished fifth with a leap of6-06, as well.
In the triple jump, junior Jerald Wilson (Port Gibson, Miss.) tooksecond, jumping 46-05 1/4. State sophomore Joseph Queen (Jackson,Miss.) placed seventh in the pole vault with a leap of 14-01 1/4.
Sophomore Adian Sanderson (Ewing, N.J.) ran 10.72 to finish seventh inthe 100-meter dash finals, while junior Eliott Morant (Kansas City,Mo.) clocked 11.04 and freshman Pierre Allen (Water Valley, Miss) ran11.27.
Following a week off, the Bulldogs return to action March 16-19 at theAlabama Relays in Tuscaloosa, Ala.
