Lady Bulldogs Tied For Fifth After First Round At LSU/Cleveland Golf Classsic
"The team started slow but thankfully Ashleigh (Korzack), Stephanie (Godare)and Amanda (Mathis) came back and finished strong," said MSU head coachChristi Sanders. "Hopefully, we can get off to a good start tomorrow andcarry some momentum throughout the round."
Senior Ashleigh Korzack shot a 74 to lead State on Friday. She stands in aseven-way tie for 10th. Amanda Mathis and Stephanie Godare both shot a 75 onFriday and stand in a tie for 17th. Emily Parker made her debut as a LadyBulldog, shooting an 80 and stands in a tie for 57th. Sophomore Julia Huhrounded out the scoring for MSU, shooting an 82.
Virginia leads the team competition after shooting a 294 in the first round.Virginia's Jennie Arseneault and Augusta State's Garrett Phillips are tiedfor the lead at 2-under par in the individual competition.
