Bulldogs Open 2006 Spring Practice

The biggest goal of spring practice is to continue developing this football program, focusing on our mental and physical toughness, and instilling ways to get us playing with confidence, Croom said.
Defensively, we want to continue to improve on a defense that played much better a year ago, Croom said. We should be solid on the defensive line and stronger than last year in the secondary. We have to improve our depth on defense.
We've got to get a lot better on offense, Croom said. We ran the football well last season, and we have to continue to do that, because you have to do that to win. We're definitely ahead of where we were on the offensive line, but we have to have some more guys step up there. To be successful, we have to throw and catch the football better.
The Bulldogs will work four days during the first week of practice before taking a week off for the university's spring break. Croom's team will then work three straight weeks to culminate the NCAA-limited 15 days of spring practice.
State will scrimmage twice during the spring before concluding their off-season practice period with a final game-like workout, Saturday, April 8, at 12 noon, as part of Super Bulldog Weekend activities.
