Lady Bulldogs To Compete At LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic This Weekend

STARKVILLE, Miss. The Mississippi State women's golf team will continue its spring schedule this weekend (March 3-5), competing in the LSU/Cleveland Golf Classic in Baton Rouge, La. The tournament will be held at the par-72, 6338-yard University Course.
"We will be tested this weekend competing against a strong field of all east region teams," said MSU head coach Christi Sanders. "This is a big event for us as we look to build some momentum going into the middle of the spring season."
The Lady Bulldogs' lineup includes seniors Ashleigh Korzack and Stephanie Godare, junior Amanda Mathis and sophomores Julia Huh and Emily Parker. Parker will see her first action as a member of the MSU women¹s golf squad after transferring from Troy University last season. Mathis leads the team with a 73.73 stroke average and has lead State in every tournament this season.
The rest of the 18-team field includes: Alabama, Auburn, Augusta State, Birmingham Southern, College of Charleston, Florida State, Furman, James Madison, Kentucky, host LSU, Louisville, Mississippi, North Carolina, North Carolina State, North Carolina-Wilmington, Vanderbilt and Virginia.
First round action will begin Friday with the first tee time set for 8:21 a.m. CT. Mississippi State is slated for a 10 a.m. CT tee time. Live stats for the tournament are available at golfstat.com.
