Bulldog Netmen To Open SEC Play On The Road This Weekend
State is 2-1 on the season with wins coming against South Alabama andUAB. The loss for the Bulldogs came against fifth-ranked Mississippi in theRiver Hills Cup. The Bulldogs are led by junior Ivan Bjelcia who is 2-1 indual matches and 12-7 overall.
South Carolina enters Friday's contest with a 7-5 record on the season.The Gamecocks are coming off a 4-3 upset win over 13th-ranked Wake Forest onTuesday. The Bulldogs hold a 12-5 overall lead in the series and are 4-3playing at South Carolina.
Florida enters its match with Mississippi on Friday with a 6-2 record.The Gators are currently ranked seventh in the latest FILA ITA poll and heldthe top spot for three weeks earlier this season. Florida coach Andy Jacksonis in his fifth year with the Gators after spending 13 years as the headcoach at Mississippi State.
"We are anxious to start conference play," said MSU head coach SylvainGuichard. "The SEC is always tough and it is no different this year. Thisweekend will be a challenge for our guys and we will have to play greattennis to win either match."
The Bulldogs will return home next weekend to host Alabama (March 10)and Auburn (March 12).
