Lady Bulldog Robin Porter Named To All-SEC Freshman Team

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Southeastern Conference announced its 2006 women'sbasketball postseason awards Tuesday, naming Mississippi State freshmanguard/forward Robin Porter to the SEC All-Freshman Team chosen by theleague's 12 coaches. Porter becomes just the fifth Lady Bulldog to be namedto the newcomer team behind Tan White (2002), LaToya Thomas (2000), SharonThompson (1995) and Lisa Scott (1989).LSU's Seimone Augustus was named Player of the Year, Tennessee's CandaceParker was named Freshman of the Year and Kentucky's Mickie DeMoss was namedCoach of the Year.The 12th-seeded Mississippi State Lady Bulldogs face 5th-seed Florida in thefirst round of the 2006 SEC Tournament on Thursday, March 2 at 6:30 p.m. CTin North Little Rock, Ark.
