M2M Announces 2006 Baseball Season Coverage Plans; First Pitch Banquet On Tap Thursday

STARKVILLE, Miss. - Bulldog Baseball and Maroon to the Max will form an impressive combination in 2006, as the MSU premium streaming service will broadcast all 56 MSU baseball games* live via audio streaming, while 28 of State's 32 home affairs will be offered via live video streaming on M2M.
Coach Ron Polk's Diamomd Dogs are currently ranked 11th nationally by Baseball America. The defending SEC Tournament Champions open the season will 11 consecutive home games, starting with a three-game series versus Marist this weekend, Feb. 24-26, at Dudy Noble Field/Polk-DeMent Stadium.
But before State opens the '06 campaign, M2M will bring video subscribers a special presentation this Thursday evening, Feb. 23. That night, M2M will broadcast MSU's First Pitch Banquet, which annually introduces the Diamond Dog squad to those in attendance. This year's featured speaker will be former Bulldog Jay Powell. A first-round draft pick of the Baltimore Orioles in 1993 following his three-year (1991-93) MSU career, has compiled a 36-23 record with 22 saves and a 4.17 career earned run average in 512 career appearances pitching for the Florida Marlins (1995-98), the Houston Astros (1998-2001), the Colorado Rockies (2001), the Texas Rangers (2002-04) and the Atlanta Braves (2005). He was the winning pitcher in the Florida Marlin's 11-inning win over Cleveland in the deciding seventh game of the 1997 World Series.
In addition to all of that coverage, M2M will also provide the weekly "MSU Baseball with Ron Polk" show each week. The show will begin airing March 31.
As a special early-season bonus, a free broadcast will be offered to all State fans by M2M on Sunday, March 5. The Diamond Dogs' affair with Arkansas State that day, slated for 1:30 p.m. CT, will be audio and video streamed free of charge to the general public. To access the stream, fans should visit the M2M Headquarters page that day and look for the free streaming links. Fans already subscribed will be able to access the streams through their normal login.
