Bulldogs Climb To No. 11 In Baseball America Poll
State inched up to No. 11 in this week's Baseball America rankings, thoughthe top nine teams in the poll remain unchanged. Clemson, which has yet toopen its 2006 campaign, leads the poll, just ahead of defending SEC champFlorida (3-0). Six other SEC schools are included in the poll, including No.8 Tennessee (4-1), No. 11 Mississippi State (0-0), No. 13 South Carolina(2-1), No. 17 Arkansas (3-0), No. 20 Louisiana State (22) and No. 23Mississippi (0-0).
MSU's 2006 schedule features 32 games at Dudy Noble Field, including aseason-opening 11-game run. Former MSU and Major League pitcher Jay Powell,the featured speaker at MSU's Feb. 23 "First Pitch/Meet the Team" banquet,is slated to throw out the first pitch in next Friday's 4 p.m. season openeragainst Marist College.
