No. 75 Lady Bulldogs Tangle With No. 29 South Alabama On Friday
MSU jumped back into the Fila Collegiate Tennis Rankings this week at No. 75 after the wins from the weekend. State comes in to the match with a 2-4 record, while the Jaguars of USA trek in to Starkville at 4-1 on the season. USA's only loss came at the hands of No. 9 Harvard. The Red and Blue is led by junior Dijana Stanic, who has posted an 8-2 overall record and 5-0 in dual match competition. The Jaguars concluded 2005 in the second round of the NCAA Championships against the Vanderbilt Commodores to finish at 16-8 on the campaign.
After Friday's match, MState will turn its attention to Southeastern Conference competition that begins on Friday, March 3, on the home courts. State will open conference action against 24th-ranked South Carolina and second-ranked Florida on Sunday, March 5.
