MSU Track & Field Adds Williams To Signees
"Ty is a great middle distance runner," said Dudley. "He's gifted academically,as well. He'll be a great addition to our team and add depth to our middledistance core."
The Springfield, Fla., native is a four-time all-State selection in crosscountry. He has won the Bay County championship in the 800-meter and mile runsfour times each and has won the district championship in the mile twice and 800once.
His personal best times include 1:53 in the 800-meter run, 4:17 in the mile and16:03 in the 5K cross country run.
"I want to come to MSU to be the best I can be," Williams said. "I want to getmy degree, as well. I feel like coming to an SEC school is going to make me abetter runner. My mother always told me that ?€˜what doesn't kill you will onlymake you better.'"
The son of Karen Ellison plans on majoring in criminal justice at MSU.
