Lady Bulldogs Move Up One Spot To 11th After Second Round Of SEC Championship
All five players from MSU improved their scores on the second day of play. Julia Huh shot a 4-over par 76 to lead all State players in the second round. She is currently in a tie for 36th with a two round total of 158. Amanda Mathis shot a 78 on day two and moved from 48th to 39th. Janet Dyer and Beth Irwin are in a tie for 55th with a two day total of 164. Dyer shot a 77 and Irwin an 81 in the second round. Stephanie Godare is only two strokes back of Dyer and Irwin after firing an 82 on Saturday and stands in 57th.
Nicole Hage of Auburn and Jessica Shepley of Tennessee are in a tie on top of the leaderboard at 1-over par. Auburn remains the team leader after the second round but their lead was cut to three stokes by LSU who shot a 293 on day two and stand in a close second.
Mississippi State will begin the third and final round tomorrow at 8:30 a.m. at the Tunica National Golf Course. Live statistics of the tournament are available at www.golfstat.com.
