Lady Bulldog Golfer Named To SEC Good Works Team
Irwin, an economics major from Germantown, Tenn., teaches junior golfclinicsduring the summer in the Memphis area. She has also been active in the SusanG. Komen Breast Cancer Golf Tournament in Memphis, and has participated inthe Angel Tree program, providing gifts for children at Christmas.
Irwin has four top-10 finishes and two runner-up finishes so far thisseason. She finished second at the Papa Johns Collegiate Golf Tournament andtied for second at the Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge. Irwin is currently ranked93rd nationally by Golfweek, 18th in the SEC, and is also currently tiedwith Amanda Mathis for the lowest round score by an MSU player with a 67.
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. TheGoodWorks Team honors a student-athlete from each school who works diligently togive back to the community in many service efforts. This is the second yearforthe SEC to sponsor a Golf Good Works Team for women's golf.
