Rogers Sets New Freshman Record On Second Day Of Texas Relays
AUSTIN, Texas ?€“?€“ Mississippi State track and field's Dominique Rogers broke herown MSU freshman record set earlier this season with her 1 minute, 3.53 secondperformance in the 400-meter hurdles on day two of the 78th Clyde LittlefieldTexas Relays. The event is being held at Mike A. Myers Stadium on theUniversity of Texas campus.
In the women's hammer, senior Jennifer Johnstone set a personal best with athrow of 168-4. The mark ranks second on the MSU all-Time Superlatives list.
The men's 4x800-meter relay team finished in a season-best time of 7:40.28. Inthe men's 5000-meter run, sophomore Brandon Smith ran a personal best time of15:28.40.
On Wednesday, junior Zita Magloire finished third in section B of the women's1500-meter run with a time of 4: 39.45. In the men's invitational 10,000-meterrun, senior Gedamu Ege was the second collegiate finisher, fifth overall, in31:20.71. Freshman Robert Scribner placed 12th overall, eighth among collegiatefinishers, in 32:24.34.
Action resumes Friday at 9:30 a.m. with the 4x100- and 4x400-meter relays, men's110-meter hurdles and women's 100-meter hurdles.
