MSU Opens Final Week Of Spring Football Drills
But for head coach Sylvester Croom and his staff, it was just more of thesame, as the Bulldog defense clearly dominated its offensive counterpartsduring the squad's final full-gear practice of the spring.
"Our defense is playing very physical right now," Croom said. "I thoughtthey dominated on the goal line drills. They were tricked on the firstpossession, but after that, they took control.
"We just don't have enough nasty people on offense," Croom continued."We've got to get tougher a little more competitive. I don't care if itstiddlywinks or pitching pennies, we've got to have guys who are competitive. And I don't see that right now from our offense.
"In fact, I got the first defense off the field early today," Croom said,"hoping that would give the offense a little more confidence. But even thatdidn't seem to work."
Croom will practice his charges again Thursday in helmets and shoulder padsonly before Saturday's 1 p.m. final spring scrimmage at Davis Wade Stadiumat Scott Field.
