Student M-Club Assists Local Grade School Readers
Student M-Club president and track athlete Jourdan Steinberg and various sport student-athletes were at Overstreet between the hours of 10 a.m. and 2:30 p.m. to participate in the reading and activities program. The MSU organization has collected more than $150 and over 200 books from the Student Association, faculty and staff members, and M-Club athletes, in support of the endeavor, which is geared toward encouraging reading among young elementary school students. Overstreet students rotated through a series of different stations highlighting the writing career of Theodor Geisel, author of the Dr. Seuss series of books. Each child was presented one of the donated books to read as a gift from the M-Club.
Club members will be helping the MSU Student Health Center promote a "Safe Spring Break" by washing windshields in campus parking lots this coming Monday and Tuesday, March 7-8.
The club is also collecting various items for delivery to Aseracare, an area hospice. Toiletry and clothing are among the items slated for donation.
The Student M-Club volunteers its members for major community service projects during the school year.
