Bulldogs Fourth After 36 Holes At Irish Invitational

HOWEY-IN-THE-HILLS, Fla. ?€“ Mississippi State's men's golf team fired a two-round total 596 and sits in fourth place on the team leaderboard at the Irish Invitational in Howey-in-the-Hills, Fla.
State's best round of the day came in the afternoon round, carding a 297 after posting a 299 in the opening round. The Bulldog's round of the day came from senior Tim Satow, who rebounded from a four-over-par 76 in the first 18 holes to shoot a two-under-par 70 at the El Campeón Golf Course at Mission Inn Resort. Sophomores Josh Oller and Jake Lambert fired a two-over-par 74 to lead MSU in the morning session.
"Tim (Satow) played really well in the second round," said MSU head coach Clay Homan. "Mike (Knight) bounced back to shoot a 74 and I look for Joe (Deraney) to play well tommorrow."
All MSU individuals are currently in the top-40 of the 75-individual field. Satow leads all individuals in ninth-place, while Joe Deraney and Oller are tied for 22nd. Lambert currently sits in the 34th spot. Playing in his first collegiate tournament, freshman Michael Knight fired rounds of 80 and 74 for 38th place.
The Shockers of Wichita State lead after 36 holes of play with a two-round score of 573. Colorado State is 12 shots back at 585, while San Diego State rounds out the top three teams with a 593.
Judd Easterling of WSU and Andrew Scott of SDSU hold the top spot on the individual leaderboard at three-under-par.
The tournament will conclude Tuesday with the final round beginning at 8 a.m. ET at holes No. 1 and No. 10.
