McNeil Named To Initial Rimington Watch List
The Rimington Award recipient is determined by a consensus of the four all-America teams: The Walter Camp Foundation, the American Football Coaches Association, the Football Writers Association of America, and The Sporting News magazine.
The six-year old trophy is named for former Nebraska great center Dave Rimington, who earned consensus first-team, all-America honors for the Cornhuskers in 1981 and '82, years in which he became the only back-to-back winner of the Outland Trophy as the nation¹s premier offensive lineman.
McNeil has played in 26 games during his State career, having earned 15 starts at the center position, including all 11 during his junior season. He played every snap in six games during the ¹04 season, grading out at 75.3 percent for the year, including a 78.5 mark over the campaign¹s final seven weeks.
