Tan White Named To AP All-America Second Team
"It is exciting to be recognized nationally by the Associated Press," said Tan White. "It's nice to represent the SEC."
White was honored along with fellow SEC players Seimone Augustus and Temeka Johnson of LSU. While Augustus was named to the first team, White; Johnson; Janel McCarville of Minnesota; Candice Wiggins of Stanford, and Sophia Young of Baylor were named to the second team.
White concluded her Lady Bulldog career becoming just the second MSU women's basketball player to surpass 2,000 career points, finishing with 2,421. She now owns five MSU career categories including blocked shots (118), field goal attempts (2,102), three-point field goals made (222), three-point field goals attempted (714) and steals (372). She recorded 40 consecutive games scoring in double digits, 29 this season, including her career-high and NCAA season game-high 47 points vs. Vanderbilt.
White has previously been named a Basketball Times Freshman All-American (2002) and WomensCollegeHoops.com All-American Honorable Mention (2003).
