State Lady Netters Face South Alabama Jaguars
STARKVILLE, Miss. - Mississippi State's women's tennis team travels to Mobile, Ala., to face the 42nd-ranked South Alabama Jaguars in an 11 a.m. match on Thurs., Feb 24. South leads the series with MSU 15-6.
"The South Alabama match is going to be a true test for our players from top to bottom," said head coach Tracy Lane. "I believe that if we play our best tennis we will place ourselves in a position to win. It is going to be a really tough match, and we are expecting the girls to step up to the occasion."
In the last polls released by the ITA, the team is ranked tied for 75th with Washington State, Louisville and Dartmouth. Newcomer Zsuzsanna Fodor moved from 28th to 26th, and in doubles, Fodor and Anastasia Kugakolova climbed 14 spots to 32nd place.
The Lady Bulldogs enter the match coming off their fourth straight shutout of the season, defeating New Orleans, 4-0, on Sunday.
