#23 Bulldog Netters To Meet Rival Mississippi In River Hills Cup
STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Mississippi State men's tennis team will battlearch-rival Mississippi in the ninth annual River Hills Cup in Jackson onThursday. The match is slated for 5 p.m. at the River Hills Club. For ticketinformation, fans should contact River Hills at 601-987-4438.
The Bulldogs, currently ranked 23rd, are 1-0 after a 4-0 win over UABlast week. With the win, the Bulldogs captured their 21st win in 22 meetingswith the Blazers.
The Rebels are ranked fifth in the country and enter the contest with a2-0 record after knocking off #32 Louisville and Louisiana-Lafayette.
State will be trying to halt a 15-match winning streak by the Rebels inthe series, a string that dates back to the Bulldogs' 1999 win in the RiverHills Cup affair. Before the Rebels' streak began, MSU had won 10 of theprevious 14 meetings.
