MSU Hosting 'Open Net' Instructional Volleyball Camps
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State will conduct a series of single-session instructional volleyball mini-camps on the MSU campus in June. The 90-minute sessions are scheduled June 8, June 22 and June 24 in the Sanderson Center beginning at 6:30 p.m. each day.
"The program is designed to introduce correct volleyball fundamentals to beginning players as well as to sharpen the skill levels of the more advanced volleyball players," said Mississippi State first-year head volleyball coach Tina Seals.
Seals along with members of State's volleyball coaching staff and team will conduct the sessions.
"OPEN NET" is open to girls in grades seven to 12 with no charge for the participants.
"We want to provide area athletes and prospective athletes an opportunity to enhance their volleyball skills and increase awareness and interest in this exciting sport in the Starkville community," said Seals.
Area youth interested in taking part in the first annual "OPEN NET" program at Mississippi State University can obtain registration and other required forms through the MSU Volleyball Office (325-2722) in Humphrey Coliseum.
