Women's Golf Signs Canada's Mikulecky To Letter-Of-Intent
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State women's golf coach Christi Sanders announced Tuesday the signing of Marli Mikulecky of Osoyoos, British Columbia, Canada, to a national letter-of-intent for the 2004-05 season.
Mikulecky is a five-time Osoyoos Golf and Country Club Junior girls club champion. In 2003 she qualified to be a member of Team Canada at the World Junior Golf Cup in Scotland, but had to withdraw due to injury. In that year, she finished first at the WCJGT Honda Way at Ledgeview.
At Osoyoos Secondary High School, Mikulecky, was a member of the boy's golf team because a girl's team did not exist. She was named the MVP of the team in 2003 and Most Inspirational Player during the 2002 season.
"I look forward to Marli joining the squad this fall. She is fundamentally sound in her game and is solid from tee to green," Sanders said. "She is excited about coming to MSU and competing in the SEC."
Mikulecky will be majoring in business and is the daughter of Bruce and Donna Mikulecky.
