MSU Women's Golfer Named To SEC Golf Good Works Team
The SEC sponsors Good Works Teams for all 20 league sponsored sports. The Team looks to highlight an athlete from each school who gives back to their community in superior service efforts. This is the first annual women's golf Good Works Team.
Olarte is MSU's first women's golf team member. The Bogota, Colombia native participates in Bulldog Blitz, a reading program for elementary children. She also helps in the M-Club Thanksgiving Food Drive and donates clothing to the Salvation Army. She is also a two-time recipient of the Newsom Award, awarded to an Outstanding Student-Athlete.
Olarte played in five tournaments for the Maroon and White this season, recording a career-best finish of 24th at the UA-Ann Rhoads Intercollegiate. She fired a season-best 78 at the Chrysler ACC/SEC Challenge.
