Croom Announces Three Spring Player Awards
The team's most improved offensive player for the spring was sophomore quarterback Omarr Conner, Croom announced. A 6-0, 203-pounder from Macon, Miss., Conner exited the spring drills atop the depth chart at the signal-calling position after completing 18-of-37 passes for 294 yards and three touchdowns during three spring scrimmages.
The team's most improved defensive player for the spring was sophomore end Deljuan Robinson. A 6-4, 295-pounder from Hernando, Miss., Robinson made six tackles, including five for loss (minus 31 yards) and four quarterback sacks (minus 27 yards) during those three scrimmages.
Croom also presented the Bulldog Award, which will be given annually to the one player who showed his teammates the greatest work ethic, leadership ability, and character during the four-week session, to senior offensive tackle David Stewart.
Stewart, a 6-6, 317-pounder from Moulton, Ala., has started 27 times at offensive tackle during his Bulldog career. He is expected to anchor the MSU offensive line from his post on the right side of the line.
