Bulldog Linksters At SEC Championships This Weekend
State looks to rebound from its past two events, where the Bulldogs finished 17th and 12th respectively at the LSU Spring Invitational and the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate.
This season's championship in Sea Island, Ga. marks the fourth straight campaign that the Sea Island Golf Club has hosted the 12-team event. Last season MSU finished 11th with a final total of 914. Joe Deraney fired a final-round 69 to finish tied for 24th.
MSU's lineup will consist of Deraney, Daniel Boles, Tim Satow, Greg Huxman and Craig Horrocks.
Five SEC teams are ranked in the top-25 in the Sagarin/Golfweek poll. The Florida Gators are No. 1, followed by No. 4 Georgia, No. 12 South Carolina, No. 20 Arkansas and No. 24 Kentucky. UF will be gunning for back-to-back titles after winning the 2003 edition.
The Bulldogs are paired with Arkansas and Kentucky and will tee off at 10:30 a.m. ET on tee No. 1.
