Bulldogs Compete At 17th Annual Billy Hitchcock
STARKVILLE, Miss. -- Mississippi State's men's golf team participates in its third-consecutive weekend tournament with a trip to Auburn, Ala. for the 17th annual Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate April 9-11.
Last weekend the Bulldogs competed in the LSU Spring Invitational in Baton Rouge, La. Next weekend, State treks to Sea Island, Ga. for the 2004 Southeastern Conference Championships.
The 54-hole tournament will be contested at Saugahatchee Country Club. The course is a par 72 and 6,689 yards in length.
This year's Easter weekend tournament will mark the 13th appearance for MSU in the Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate. The Bulldogs best finish in the event came in 2000, where they posted a second-place finish. Last season the Maroon and White finished seventh in the 12-team field.
The 2004 Billy Hitchcock Intercollegiate field includes SEC foes Auburn and Mississippi. Rounding out the 12-team field is College of Charleston, Florida State, Georgia State, Jacksonville State, Memphis, Southeastern Louisiana and South Alabama and Texas A&M.
MSU will tee off at 9:38 a.m. on Friday morning. They are paired with Memphis and South Alabama.
