"I talked with Mike (Shula) last night and he explained his thought process on why the name of the award was changed. He assured me that it was not personal, that he meant no disrespect toward me. He was looking at it strictly from a recruiting standpoint. It was just a lack of communication between the two of us that probably could have been avoided. I appreciate Mike and the university keeping my name on the award, it means a lot to me. It recognizes everything I tried to accomplish during my time at the University of Alabama. I assured Mike that there were no hard feelings on my part, and I think we both look forward to putting all this behind us."
