Women's Golf Stands In 13th At Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic
ATHENS, Ga. -- Mississippi State's women's golf team is 13th-place at the Liz Murphey Collegiate Classic firing a 314 in the second round of the tournament.
Freshman Amanda Mathis leads State in a tie for 49th with a tournament score of 154. Stephanie Godare is tied for 57th, one stroke back of Mathis. Juniors Beth Irwin and Janet Dyer are tied for 60th and stand one stroke back of Godare and two back of Mathis with a tournament score of 156. Ashleigh Korzack is in a tie for 88th with a tournament score of 162.
Ohio State remains on top the team leaderboard, firing a 283 in the second round for a tournament score of 574. Host Georgia is in second, six strokes back of OSU, while Duke is in third with a score of 583. Duke's Brittany Lang and Ohio State's Lindsay Knowlton are tied for first with a tournament score of 139. Florida State's Katie Quinney and Georgia's Allison Martin are tied for third, just two strokes back of Lang and Knowlton, with a tournament score of 141.
