Men's Golf Hosts Memphis In Dual Match At Old Waverly
The match is scheduled for 36 holes at the par 72 course, with the first round beginning at 8 a.m.
The Bulldogs are playing their first dual match since 1976 when they competed against Mississippi. State looks to even its record with the Tigers of Memphis in match competition. The two schools squared off in a tri-match in the same season.
"It's a chance for us to even our record with Memphis," said MSU head coach Clay Homan. "They (Memphis) have a very good team."
Homan's squad is coming off a 12th-place finish in the Conrad Rehling Spring Invitational in Tuscaloosa, Ala. on March 12-14. The Maroon and White lineup includes Joe Deraney, Jake Lambert, Jared Jimenez, Daniel Boles and Greg Huxman.
Tuesday's match with the Blue and White of Memphis is the first time that MSU has competed in a tournament at Old Waverly since the Southeastern Conference Championships were held there in 1991.
